2012: A look back at this year's Australian clubbing scene
As the year 2012 draws to a close we look back at the clubbing scene and clubbing industry across the country to highlight some of its major events and milestones.
Music: Love it or hate it, Gangnam Style by South Korean rapper Psy, while being released earlier in the year took the world by a storm in the later half. It was followed by countless music video remakes and its unique dance style made it into clubs around the world.
Under 18s: People sure are getting in early in the clubbing and partying scene, with a noticeable increase in under-18 venues and events.
Incident: On 27 November 2012 hundreds of people were lucky to safely escape after a fire began near Shooters Superclub on the Gold Coast while schoolies from Victoria were inside. The venue suffered damage, but repairs are underway and it will reportedly be back better than ever soon.
Online: ClubbingScene.com.au launched and in less than 1 year became the largest website on bars and clubs in the country. Thank you to everyone for your support. Happy New Year!
