Paying $50,000 to get into a nightclub isn't on most people's agenda, but there are some nightclubs so elite that you'll have to fork out a lot of cash before you can party. Most aren't like your average nightclub either, offering a lot more than just bars and a dance floor.

In New York, The Core Club positions itself as an elite establishment with a US$50,000 initiation fee followed by annual payments of about US$15,000 thereafter. The club features a rotating art collection, dining, accommodation, a fitness centre, a spa and more.

If you plan to secure a private table at Armani Privé in Milan, it'll set you back around 200 Euros. The entry requirements are described by some people as being so stringent that making a booking at the venue's restaurant and then entering the club after your meal is one of the best ways of getting in.

Then there's Hollywood Rythmoteque. If you're lucky enough to get in, you'll also have a high cover charge to pay, but you'll get to mingle with some of the hippest of Italian crowds consisting of locals and visitors from around the world.
