Dealing with sore feet after clubbing
It's something every girl's experienced - you've been dancing and clubbing all night having a great time, but the great looking shoes you've been wearing have made your feet so painful you can hardly bear to take any more steps. Here are some tips to help out:
Take a second pair of shoes with you when you go clubbing - like a pair of roll up flats - that you can carry in your handbag and slip into if the pain gets too severe. That way, if you need to take your shoes off to ease the pain, you won't have to walk around barefoot in areas of the city at night where you'd probably prefer not to.
Help reduce swelling and aching of your feet and ankles by lying on the floor and elevating your feet for 15-20 minutes once you get home. Swelling can also be reduced by soaking your feet in cold water and adding a small amount of ice if necessary.
Having your boyfriend or a close friend massage your feet can help reduce the pain by promoting a better return of blood circulation to sore areas.
If you often find that removing your shoes and walking around in bare feet after a night clubbing can't be avoided, the tougher the soles of your feet the better it will be for you. It's easy to harden the soles of your feet by just walking around barefoot more often during the day: around home, in the garden, at the beach, or wherever else you prefer.
If the pain in your feet is severe or persistent, seeking professional advice from a doctor or podiatrist would be a good idea.
