Jil Sander

Jil Sander launched her first women's collection, which was sold on Milchstrasse in Hamburg. The collection featured luxury pantsuits, classic shirts, and distinctive coats for the new generation of businesswomen.

Jil Sander GmbH, Hamburg, was founded in 1978.

In 1979 Jil Sander Cosmetics was launched as a strategic licensing alliance with the Lancaster Group. In the same year, Pure Woman and Pure Man, the first Jil Sander fragrances, entered the market. These were recently relaunched as Scent 79.

Jil Sander Italia S.p.A was founded in Milan. Jil Sander also opened its first showroom in Milan, which later became the operative headquarters for the group.
